China’s Zhurong Mars Rover Might Have Taken The Best Selfie Ever Taken on Mars!

NASA’s 2020 mission to Mars is underway, the Perseverance rover has begun its scientific phase, and the Ingenuity helicopter has made great achievements in a short period of time. But NASA is not the only space agency to send new hardware to Mars. Recently, China also landed its own rover on the surface of this red planet.

We have been looking at Mars photos submitted by Perseverance, but China has just released one of the best Mars photos you have ever seen. The China National Space Administration launched its first rover to Mars last year, defeating NASA’s Perseverance rover in the sky. They arrived on Mars at about the same time in February this year. Perseverance landed immediately. The Chinese rover and lander Zhu Rong orbited the Earth for a while before deciding to land.

Now that the Chinese rover has landed, it has left its mark on humans and has taken some incredible photos along the way. As we all know, NASA’s Curiosity rover is the king of Martian selfies. The rover shot so many at this point, I actually can’t count them. Perseverance is a good start, but it seems that you are not the only new challenger to the Curiosity Throne. The Zhurong rover may not last as long as Curiosity or Perseverance, but it still has some impressive photography skills. In fact, he lacks something in curiosity and perseverance: a wireless camera.

According to Xinhua, the Chinese government news agency, Zhu Rong’s new photo collection contains one of the most unique photos of Mars in history. This is a selfie of the Zhu Rong probe and the Chinese luxury lander sitting side by side on the surface of the earth. The reason why this photo is so special is that it was taken from a distance using a wireless camera placed on the ground by a rover.

Xinhua News Agency said: “Zhu Rong also used a detachable camera to take selfies on the landing pad.” “The camera was originally installed on the bottom of the lunar rover and was launched by the lunar rover 10 meters south of the platform. The video of the lunar rover returning to the platform was taken and carried out. The camera then uses the wireless signal to transmit the images and videos to the rover, and then sends them back to Earth through the orbiter.

This is really amazing. China has made considerable progress in space exploration in recent years. Conquered the far side. The moon, lunar surface sampling missions, and the current Mars space exploration missions are all completed in a short period of time. China is also optimistic about the human missions to Mars and the moon, and there are national records. No one should doubt that they will execute them.

Launched on July 23, 2020, and entered the orbit of Mars on February 10, 2021. The lander equipped with the Mars rover successfully landed on Mars on May 14, 2021. In 2021, China will become the second country to successfully land on Mars with a soft landing. After the United States, the spacecraft on Mars also established communications from the surface. I wish Rong a successful deployment at 02:40 UTC on May 22, 2021.
